Beyond Pinterest

Let me just state this right up front - Pinterest is great... for some things. 

It's perfect if you're looking for something specific that's fairly common, like a recipe or a paint color. 

It's not great for everything else.  If you've looked around for something other than whatever's popular right this instant, you'll know it's difficult to find anything unique on Pinterest.

Where You Can Save And Where You Should Splurge

Everyone hates to be disappointed by their purchases.  Not long ago, I bought a shirt at a discount store.  I should have known better, but when I got it out to wear it, there was a subtle stain on it.  The stain wasn't terrible, it had been quite awhile since I'd purchased it and it was super cheap, so I didn't bother about returning it.  I just wasted time and detergent attempting to remove the stain.  I wish I had spent that time shopping at Chico's or Ann Taylor and spent more money on another shirt that I could have actually worn.  

Interior design and decorating is the same way.  There are definite times to save and definite times to splurge and I'm going to tell you what they are.
